Boys and Girls Club members volunteered their time with Eastridge residents
Every month as part of their Joie de Donner “Joy of Giving” project, Eastridge selects a local non-profit organization to partner with. Recently the Vermilion Boys and Girls Club (Rodney Unit) was the recipient of this generosity. Approximately eight employees from Eastridge donated their time at the Vermilion Boys and Girls Club (Rodney Unit) to interact with the over 200 club members in attendance. Eastridge served club members hot dogs, chips, and drinks for lunch and followed up with snow cones for dessert. In addition, a giant World Sports Arena was set up with 5 different games as well as face painting. The project was concluded with a donation made to the Vermilion Boys and Girls Club (Rodney Unit) which will be used to purchase educational supplies that the club will use in its after school homework assistance program. According to Brian Ford Director of the Vermilion Boys and Girls Club (Rodney Unit) “The Vermilion Boys and Girls Club is very honored to work with Eastridge Nursing Center and is very grateful for the generosity of its employees. This project made a tremendous impact on the youth we serve, and opened the door to community service opportunities for club members to give back to the residents of Eastridge.” Following the project several teens from the Vermilion Boys and Girls Club (Rodney Unit) spent an afternoon of volunteering at Eastridge interacting with residents and taking them for walks.
