Hoyt and White celebrate wedding with Nuptial Mass
Kristen Faye Hoyt and Seth Christopher White exchanged wedding vows on August 8th at Saint Mary Magdalen Church in Abbeville. Father Gregory Chauvin officiated at the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Fred and Karen Hoyt of Abbeville. She is the maternal granddaughter of Mrs. Merrita Oldenburg and the late Mr. George Oldenburg of Carencro. She is the paternal granddaughter of Mrs. Madelyn Hoyt and the late Mr. Wilber Hoyt of Lafayette. She is a graduate of Vermilion Catholic High School. She attended the University of Lafayette and is now the owner of Hard Copy, a print and copy service located in the Oil Center in Lafayette.
The groom is the son of Chris and Denise White of Abbeville. He is the maternal grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Broussard of Abbeville. He is the paternal grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Pinkard White of Forked Island. He is a graduate of Abbeville High School and the University of Lafayette where he received a bachelor of science in Industrial Technology. He is employed with Chevron USA as an engineer.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory crystal beaded embroidered gown with an off the shoulder sweetheart neckline. Peaked bands trimmed the empire waist with satin buttons down the back. The A-line skirt was beautifully edged with scalloped embroidery beneath a satin band that continued onto the chapel length train. To complete her ensemble, the bride wore a single layer, fingertip length edged in satin. A Swarovski crystal comb, that resembled the crystal beaded embroidery on her dress, accented the veil. The bride also wore crystal rhinestone earrings that matched the embroidery pattern.
The bride carried a nosegay bouquet of white roses, mini calla lilies, blush tulips and white stephanotis accented with crystals. In the tradition of something borrowed, she wore a sixpence in her shoe that her mother wore in her wedding day.
Maid of honor was Jennifer Doyle, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Claire and Lindsay Hoyt, sisters-in-law of the bride, Erica Weilbacher, friend of the bride; Whitney White, sister of the groom, and Kristy Roussell, cousin of the groom. Each bridesmaid wore a teal radiant chiffon strapless A-line gown with a soft pleated bodice and natural waist embellished with an espresso velvet ribbon. They each carried a nosegay of chocolate calla lilies.
The best man to the groom was his father, Christ White. Groomsmen were Mark Broussard, grandfather of the groom; Boyd and Richard Hoyt, brothers of the bride; Riley Dufrene and Brad Norfleet, friends of the groom. Ushers were Brady Broussard, godfather of the groom; Mark Broussard, uncle of the groom; Kirk Oldenburg, uncle of the bride, and Keith Miner, Jr., cousin of the bride. The groomsmen and ushers wore chocolate colored tuxedos with designer vests.
Alex, Annie and Julia Hoyt, nieces of the bride, were flower girls. They wore white satin gowns with a tulle overlay gathered at the waist. Each carried a kissing ball.
The mother of the bride wore an elegant moss colored three pice suit from the Ensembles Collection by Mon Cheri. The delicately beaded and embroidered organza top was paired with a straight iridescent taffeta skirt. The outfit was completed with a high collar iridescent taffeta bolero.
The groom’s mother wore a dusty rose sequin lace jacket dress featuring a long sleeve sequin jacket with lace floral print over a mock 2-piece dress with a spaghetti strap bodice over a fully lined chiffon skirt.
Readers were Cecelia Hoyt, aunt of the bride and Leah Trahan, cousin of the groom. Gift bearers were Katie Broussard and Heidi Istre, cousins of the groom. Special attendants were Jennifer Miner, and Natalie and Emily Jeansonne, cousins of the bride.
A reception was held at Rip Van Winkle Gardens immediately following the ceremony. After returning from a cruise on the Mexican Riviera, the couple will reside in Youngsville.
