The bride is the daughter of Garrick and Suzanne Abshire of Gueydan. She is the granddaughter Shirley Abshire and the late Earl Abshire and also the late Robert Belaire and the late Ruth Koehler.
Rebecca is a 2009 graduate of Gueydan High School and also a 2011 graduate of McNeese State University with an Associate of Science degree and Computer Information Technology.
The groom is the son of Bill and Jerrilyn Humble of Morse. He is the grandson of Johnny and the late Mildred Humble and also the late Mamie and Mede Breaux. William is a 2004 graduate of Midland High School. He is currently employed with Works for Armour Unlimited.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father wearing a beautiful silver silky Jovani wedding gown, with a beaded bodices, spaghetti straps and had a sweetheart neckline and ruffled back. She carried a bouquet of blue tulips, white lilies adorned with white feathers all wrapped in a matching silver ribbon with a silver dollar pendant on a chain. The pendant was her “something borrowed” from her mother which was originally for her grandmother.
Jeanne Deville, best friend of the bride, served as maid of honor and Greta Abshire LeDoux, cousin of the bride served as bridesmaid. Bridesmaids wore navy blue dresses to match the flowers in the bride’s bouquet. The dresses were in the style of their choice with matching silver accessories.
Canaan Broussard, best friend of the groom, served as best man. Robert Abshire, brother of the bride served as groomsmen.
Food, refreshments, bridal and grooms cake were served following the ceremony at a reception that was also held at the Gueydan Civic Center.
