David Baird of Breaux Bridge earned third place honors in the novice lightweight division of the Bayou Louisiana Strongman Challenge held April 26 in Baton Rouge. Baird, 23, has been training for 18 months and competed in power lifting before testing his skills in the strongman events. The Baton Rouge meet attracted competitors from the local area as well as Mississippi, Texas, Florida and Maryland.
