Mr. and Mrs. Ned Robinson, long-time Gueydan residents, recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 12.

The couple met while attending Leland College in Baker, La., they married on June 12, 1952.

Mr. and Mrs. Robinson worked as educators for many years. A well known figure in Gueydan Mr. Robinson began his career in education at the age of 24, serving as a teacher, principal, and a mentor to thousands of elementary and high school students in Vermilion Parish throughout his career.

Mrs. Robinson taught elementary school, retired to raised her family and returned to direct the Head Start Program before her final retirement.

Both have served as members and leaders of numerous Professional, fraternal, religious and charitable organizations

The Robinsons spend their time at home and traveling. While at home gardening is a major pass time.

The Robinson children and their spouses are: Ned III (Vassie). Errol (Daffine), Brian (Robin), Carl (Lelia), Vallerie (Antione), Karen, Drake (Vanessa), Gerald (Cathy) and Kimberly. They find themselves very fortunate to have 29 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
