OPELOUSAS – Services will be Monday for former mayor and educator John Vallien. He died May 23 at age 79.
He was principal of Carter G. Woodson High in Lawtell and retired as St. Landry Parish supervisor of instruction. He was mayor from 2000 to 2004.
Survivors include a son and four daughters.
Arrangements are by Williams.
