Delcambre teen dies after being electrocuted

DELCAMBRE - The town and school of Delcambre are mourning the loss of one of their own who died Tuesday night at a hospital in Lafayette.

Matthew Dean Duhon-Gary was electrocuted Saturday night while cleaning his four-wheeler. After a few days in the hospital, he was unresponsive.

Gary, 14, was a freshman at Delcambre High School.

He will be buried Friday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Delcambre.

Fr. Herb Bennerfield will officiate the services.

According to his obit, Gary was a “wonderful kid with a great personality and a smile that would always light up the room.”

He loved spending time outdoors riding motor bikes and four-wheelers.

He is survived by his parents “Joey” Gary Jr and Jennifer Duhon of Delcambre.

He leaves behind three sisters, Amber, Andie and Lanie Gary.

Evangeline Funeral Home in Delcambre is handling the funeral arrangements.
