NV's Colby Roy fires in a pitch against Jena on Friday.
The North Vermilion Patriots and the Vermilion Catholic Eagles each won their home playoff game on Thursday to advance to the regional round in the playoffs.

NV came back from a 5-2 early deficit to lay it on visiting Jena 13-5.

The Patriots now await the winner between fourth-seeded Loyola and number-29 St. James.

Vermilion Catholic, on the other hand, erased a 1-0 Oberlin lead with a four-spot in the second inning and never looked back, cruising to an 8-1 victory.

Senior Ryan David threw a complete game to pick up the win.

VC now awaits the victor between 15th-ranked Archbishop Hannan and number-18 Houma Christian.
