Hardy and Baudoin tie the knot

Katie Hardy and Trenton Baudoin were united in marriage during a 1:00 p.m. ceremony held on October 29, 2011, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kaplan. Father Kendal Faulk, uncle of the groom, presided over the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Hargrave and the late John Hardy, of Abbeville.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Adrien Baudoin, of Abbeville.

Escorted by her step-father, the bride wore a dazzling strapless ivory gown, which featured a sweetheart neckline. The bodice was fully beaded and fit throughout the hip. The trumpet skirt was adorned with eye-catching handkerchief-style organza layers and finished with a lovely semi-cathedral train. To complete her look, the bride carried a nosegay of off-white lilies and off-white hydrangeas with burgundy and green feathers accented with a fleur-de-lis broach on the stems.

Jennifer Landry, cousin of the bride, served as the bride’s maid of honor, and Monica Matthews, friend of the bride, served as the bride’s matron of honor. Kaylyn Baudoin, sister of the groom, Jacie Sagrera, friend of the bride, and Heather Decou, friend of the bride, served as the bridesmaids; and Laila Hargrave, sister of the bride, and Julie Hargrave, sister of the bride, served as the junior bridesmaids during the ceremony.

The bridesmaids wore formal strapless gowns of chianti satin. The bodice featured horizontally ruched satin. A band, which was accented with a rhinestone brooch, trimmed the natural waistline. A slim A-line skirt flowed from the waistline.

The junior bridesmaids wore formal gowns of chianti taffeta with a tank-style bodice. A satin sash of kiwi satin, enriched the natural waist, from which flowed a ball gown skirt.

To complete their looks, the bridesmaids carried nosegays of off-white lilies with green hydrangeas and burgundy feathers, with draping brown feathers.

Ali Broussard, cousin of the bride, served as the flower girl, and Carlyn Ledet, son of the bride, served as the ring bearer during the ceremony.

Cade Broussard, cousin of the bride, Charles Gastal, cousin of the groom, and Seth Hebert, cousin of the groom, served as the ushers during the ceremony.

Nicholas Gastal, cousin of the groom, served as the best man and Kyle Baudoin, brother of the groom, Philip Laperouse, friend of the groom, Jacob Fleming, friend of the groom, Tyler Frederick, cousin of the groom, and Tylor Patin, friend of the bride, served as the groomsmen during the ceremony.

The mother of the bride wore a two-piece suit of cocoa silk shantung. The V-neck jacket featured a ruffled trim surrounding the neckline, front closure, and hemline of the jacket, Rhinestone buttons accented the front closure and shirred outer edge of the three-quarter sleeves. The jacket complemented the elegance of the simple sheath skirt.

The mother of the groom wore a satin floor-length teal dress with a fitted A-line skirt and three-quarter sleeve short jacket accented with rhinestones and beading trim at the waist with a teal sash.

To complete their look, the mothers each wore a corsage of orchids and off-white roses accented with feathers.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Organist and Vocalist Francis LeBlanc and Trumpeter Kip Faulk.

Readings for the ceremony were given by Mike and Janise Hardy, godparents of the bride.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Vermilion Youth Center.

The couple plans to take a honeymoon during the summer and plans to reside in Abbeville.
