New Iberia – Funeral services were conducted for Joshua Joseph “Josh” Alleman, 29, at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, at Evangeline Funeral Home with Toby Breaux officiating. Interment wasl held privately at a later date.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Josh passed away on Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Josh was born Nov. 10, 1978, he had a love for the outdoors and animals. He enjoyed raising dogs, chickens, ducks, goats and sheep. He was a loving husband and father who kept his family close to him and always provided for them.

Survivors include his wife of eight years, Jaclyn Smith of Catahoula; his three children, Alexis, Bailey and Chloe Alleman of Catahoula; his mother, Bridget Wempern and her husband Carl of New Iberia; his father, Jerry Alleman and his wife Ramona of Bull Island; two brothers, Johnny Alleman and Carl Wempern Jr. both of New Iberia; three sisters, Felecia, Tasha and Kimberly Alleman; maternal grandmother, Joyce Rebert of New Iberia; paternal grandparents, Easton and Ruby Alleman of Bull Island; and his in-laws, Dennis and Juanita Smith of Catahoula.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Herman Rebert; and his cousin, Jacob Migues.
