GUEYDAN -The Gueydan Duck Festival will hold its annual Wine and Cheese Social Saturday night, August 4 at the Gueydan Civic Center to honor dignitaries, sponsors and supporters.

Chosen as the Festival’s Junior Grand Marshals are Kelsey McDaniel and Brandon Lougon. This young lady and young man will have the honor to lead the Grand Parade.

Kelsey is the seventeen year old daughter of Phil & Ranella McDaniel. She has two siblings Colby McDaniel and Bethany Webb, married to Joshua Webb. She is the grand daughter of Beverly Lounsberry and the late Robert D. Lounsberry and Audrey McDaniel and the late Charles D. McDaniel Sr. (Chaco)

Kelsey is a senior at Notre Dame High School. She is an active member in several Notre Dame originations. Kelsey is presently the 2012 Miss Gueydan.

The past year Kelsey traveled to Missouri on a mission trip with the Notre Dame Class were she found it to be a very fulfilling experience and plans to travel to Puerto Rico on this years Mission trip.She plans to attend LSUE majoring in Education after grauduating.

Brandon Lougon will also have the honor of leading the Duck Festival’s Grand Parade.

Brandon is the eighteen year old son of Larry and Kim Lougon. He has one sibling, Gabe Anthony Lougon. He is the grandson of J.C. and Verda Petry, Diana Lougon and the late Doris Lougon.

Brandon is a senior at Gueydan High School. He annually participates in the Vermilion Parish Special Olympics where he runs the 50 meter dash and throws the shot put. In the 2011 games, Bradon placed first in both events.

Brandon enjoys playing video and computer games and listening to music.

He is also a big fan of Gueydan High School sports.
