Rachel is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Landry of Abbeville. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ewell Hebert of Cow Island, and the late Mr. and Mrs. George P. Landry of Leroy. After graduating from Abbeville High, Rachel received an undergraduate degree in kinesiology from Louisiana State University and then her physical therapy graduate degree from Texas Women’s University. She is currently employed at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, Virginia.
James is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter McDade of Deposit, New York, and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James McDade of Pearl River, New York, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Deacher of Queens, New York. After graduating from Seton Catholic Central High in Binghamton, New York, and Franciscan University, James earned his MBA from the University of New Orleans, and a Master of International Business degree at Grenoble Ecole de Management in Grenoble, France. He is currently employed as a sales executive with Cvent, Inc. in McLean, Virginia.
Escorted by her father, Rachel wore an elegant ivory Lycette gown of re-embroidered lace, which featured a v-neck trumpet bodice, a keyhole back, and a sweep train. Her beautiful satin belt was encrusted with pearls and crystals. Intertwined in her bouquet were her grandmother and great-grandmother’s rosaries, and its stem was encircled with satin from her mother and godmother’s wedding dress. Rachel’s Venetian birdcage veil was accented with a silk and pearls.
Matron of honor was Ann Marie Guillory, first cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jamie DeBarbieris, Lauren Ardoin, Holly Cobb, and Rachel Gresh, all friends of the bride. Caitlin Hackett was the junior bridesmaid, and Marissa Zaczek was the flower girl, both nieces of the groom.
The two best men were Michael Gergits and Timothy Kulilowski, both friends of the groom. The groomsmen were Joseph Raymond, Livia Iasnik, friends of the groom, and Michael Zaczek, nephew of the groom. Junior groomsman was the groom’s nephew, Jack Hackett, and the ring bearer was Cole Landry, godchild of the bride. Friends of the groom who served as ushers were Beau Bedford, Matthew Conrad, Timothy Delaney, and John Wayert.
The first and second readings were read by the groom’s sisters Mary Beth McDade and Colleen Cahill. The Eucharistic gifts were presented by Corey Landry, Jacob Landry, and Justin Landry, all brothers of the bride. Music was provided by Tommy Guidry, organist; Lindsay Leblanc, vocalist; Yang Yang Li, violinist, and James’ sister Maureen Hackett sang the Ave Marie.
The wedding reception was held at Magdalen Place. After honeymooning in Hawaii, the new Mr. and Mrs. McDade plan to live in Arlington, Virginia.
