GUEYDAN - Helping girls prepare for Homecoming recently became the hot topic at several Les Dames de Gueydan meetings. After giving it some thought and planning, Les Dames president Staci Dupree and event chairman Allie Gaspard, are proud to announce the first annual Homecoming Fashion Frenzy. As part of their 2012-2013 program the Les Dames de Gueydan will host a new event they will sponsor annually.

Fashion Frenzy will be held to benefit middle and high school age girls interested in buying or selling Homecoming suits, cocktail dresses, shoes accessories and formals.

The frenzy is set for August 29 at 6 p.m. at the Gueydan Civic Center.

According to a Les Dames spokesperson this is something other organizations in cities across the U. S. are offering to high school girls to help simplify the Homecoming rush and to also help with the rising cost of party dresses.

During the event girls from the surrounding high schools will be able to search for their dream dress though racks from Rhinestone Runway and Tres Chic. There will also be gently worn formals and Homecoming attire available for purchase. Other accessories like jewelry and purses to complete the prom look are also scheduled to be sold at the event.

The event is free to the pubic and there will be great prize giveaways throughout the evening. For more information about Homecoming Fashion Frenzy you may contact Staci Dupree at 523-2508. If you are interested in selling your gently used formals and homecoming attire please contact Allie Gaspard at 329-4063.
