Dear Editor:

What has happened over the years in Abbeville schools?? Over the years I have watched things dwindle away, things that gave students pride to be an Abbeville Wildcat or a Junior Wildcat. In middle school we had cheerleaders, today no more, we had a prom back then, today no more. In high school we had a pep squad and a band that took up almost a whole section in the bleachers, today no more pep squad and the band is so small. We had a dance after every home football game, today no more. For homecoming we had a bonfire and lots of activities. I know today there is no more bonfire. What has happened over the years for all these things to just go away?

I get that there are some bad apples in the crowd, but I would sure hope that the good outweigh the bad.

I look in the newspaper, I hardly ever see pictures of the activities for Abbeville schools and only see the bad for Abbeville schools.

Come on administrations start putting the good things happening in our schools, just like all the other schools do in this parish. Let's bring back the pride of being an Abbeville Wildcat!
