Tuesday night will be Senior Night at North Vermilion, as the Patriots and Lady Patriots will honor five graduating seniors.

The Lady Patriots are clinging to the 27th spot in Ken Ramsey’s unofficial power rankings. NV’s girls had risen to the 24th spot after defeating District 9-3A champion Abbeville last Tuesday, but fell slightly after losing to VC on Friday.

The Lady Pats were missing senior Kate Faulk in the game with the Lady Eagles, and Faulk figures to miss Tuesday’s game with Kaplan as well.

The Lady Pirates are playing solid basketball as of late. Were it not for a three-point loss to Franklin on February 3, they would be 3-1 for their last four games.

Neither boys team figures to make the playoffs this year, but expect a hard fought game nonetheless.

NV head coach Jack LeBlanc said he expects a challenge when the teams clash on Tuesday.

“Kaplan’s got size on us,” said LeBlanc. “They’re playing well at the end of the season, so it should be a good test for us.
