Mr. and Mrs. John and Monique Nelms of Abbeville are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Blaire Nelms, to Adam Desormeaux, son of Mr. and Mrs. Scott and Catherine Desormeaux of Abbeville.

The couple plans to wed on Friday, June 24, 2011 during a 7:00 p.m. ceremony at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Vermilion Catholic High School. After high school, she earned a bachelor’s degree in English at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and is currently employed by Vermilion Catholic High School.

The groom-elect is a graduate of Vermilion Catholic High School. He is currently attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and is employed by the Army National Guard and Don’s Seafood Hut.
