A resident of Abbeville, LA Mr. Rice passed on July 5, 2012 in Abbeville, LA.
He leaves to cherish his memory and in God’s care two sons, Javion Minnick and Zion Campbell both of Abbeville, LA; one daughter, Armani Rice of Abbeville, LA; his father, Paul Plowden of Abbeville, LA; three brothers, Larry Rice, Travis Rice and Rodney Rice all of Abbeville, LA; five sisters, Elaine Rice, Amanda Rice, Yolanda Rice, Nicole Rice and Natalie Rice all of Abbeville, LA; uncles, Alvin Rice, Alton Rice, Raywood Stewart, Michael Stewart, Ray Larry Thomas (Sherry), Donald Plowden (Pearl), Terry Plowden and Rodney Plowden; aunts, Amy Rice, Christine Rice (Donald), Rose Landry (Gilbert), Barbara Reaux, Bernadine Rideaux, Patricia Plowden Hoffpauir (Gary), Lisa Plowden, Glendia Williams (George), Jennifer Harris, Shirley Reaux, Lula Mae Montgomery and Dorothy Robinson all of Abbeville, LA, one godchild, Journal Kelly; godparents, Juanita Pilette, and Amy Rice; maternal grandmother, Melinda Plowden; maternal grandfather, Lawrence Reaux nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He now joins in glory with his mother, Clementine Rice; three cousins, Kent Rice, Tristen Plowden and Crispen O’Brien; maternal grandmother, Genevieve Stewart, maternal grandfather, Alvin Rice; uncles, Walter Rideaux, Jr. Stanley Thomas, Sr., Lynn Earl Bessard; Humberto Auguilar.
Active pallbearers will be, Marcus Rice, Brandon Nolan, Alvin O’Brien, Travis Rice, Walter Rideaux, III, Christopher Rice, Grant Plowden, and Coby Comeaux.
Honorary pallbearers will be, Rodney Rice, Larry Rice, Steven Reaux, James Rice, Brandon Rice, Terry Plowden, and Ricky Campbell.
