Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Mouton Cove, Louisiana will be celebrating its 160th church anniversary on Sunday, March 25, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. Dr. Henry L. Maze, pastor of the Greater Mt. Triumph Missionary Baptist Church will deliver the message on that day.

The theme this year is “A Church with a Solid Foundation” (Matthew 16:18) All are invited to worship and attend this great experience. Come out and share in this spirit-filled occasion. The church is the oldest African American Baptist church in Vermilion Parish. It originated in 1852 and is currently under the watchmen of Dr. Henry L. Comeaux.

Also on Friday, March 23, 2012, at 7:30 p.m., the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church will be hosting a pre-anniversary musical. Local choirs, soloists, and dance groups will be in attendance. The theme this year is “When the praises go up blessings come down.” The special guest for the musical will be the legendary Joshua McDaniels and the Gospel Chimes, of Franklin, featuring Sister Rosetta Moma-Tat Gray. Come and meet the Holy Ghost at this great occasion.
