The bride is the daughter of Jude and Terrie Richard of Kaplan. She is the granddaughter of Robert and Ruby Landry and Rodney and Velma Richard all of Kaplan.
The groom is the son of Mitchell and Peggy Tate of Ville Platte. He is the grandson of Jeanette Tate and the late Norman Tate and Harry and Rose Pitre, all of Ville Platte.
The bride was escorted by her father Jude Richard.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a custom-designed gown created by Cindy Broussard, friend of the bride and Terrie Richard, mother of the bride. Her dress was a white silk semi-sweetheart gown with wide straps with a pleated bodice which was accented by an embroidered band around her waist. The A-line skirt was accented with center pleats. The hemline was enhanced by a beaded scalloped lace and the back of her dress was appliquéed with stunning hand beaded detail. The bride wore a cathedral length veil and carried a bouquet of white roses and purple calla lilies adorned with her mother’s rosary.
The bride’s matron of honor was her sister, Mandy Richard Romero.
Her bridesmaids included Jamie Tate Aucoin, sister of the groom, Julie Baker Richard, sister-in-law of the bride, Amelia Richard Schexnayder, cousin of the bride, Marissa Davidson Guidry, Jade Abshire LeBouef, Lauren Broussard Trahan , and Taylor Marie Trahan, friends of the bride.
The bridesmaids wore an eggplant colored silky taffeta floor length gown with a ruched V-neck bodice, a natural waist and an A-line skirt with side pockets and a sweep train. The bridesmaid carried a bouquet of a mixture of green, purple and white hydrangeas, green and white roses, berries and purple calla lilies accented with eggplant ribbon.
The flower girls were niece of the bride Katherine Richard and friend of the bride Sophie LeBouef. The flower girls wore satin dresses with sheer organza overlay skirts.
The groom’s best man was his friend, Ike Morein.
The groomsmen included friends of the groom Casey Bond, Robert Brunet, Adam Chapman, Brad Fontenot, Clay Landreneau, brother of bride Christian Richard, and brother-in-law of the bride Kevin Romero.
Ring bearers were godchildren of the bride, Jalen Landry and Luke Romero.
Ushers included brother-in-law of the groom Shelby Aucoin and friends of the groom Silas LaHaye and Bryan Morein.
The mother of the bride wore a pewter silk dupioni gown. The top featured an overlapping shawl collar and was embellished with an overlay of grey and silver embroidery with a three quarter length sleeve. The top was enhanced with a long A-line pewter dupioni silk skirt. She carried flowers complementing the bride’s bouquet.
The mother of the groom wore a gown of celadon green polyester with a chiffon overlay. The strapless gown was adorned with evening sequins and beaded trim and was accented by a chiffon jacket with three quarter length sleeves. She carried flowers complementing the groom’s boutonniere.
Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Sharee Hunter, vocalist Sandy Richard, Godmother of the Bride, Gabrielle Landry, cousin of the bride and Earl Seaux, guitarist Murphy Guilbeaux and trumpeter Kip Faulk.
Scripture readers were Godmother of the groom Janice Colligan and Godfather of the bride, Shannon Landry. Giftbearers were Shannon Landry and Christopher Tate, Godfather of the groom. Eucharistic minister was Mary Richard, Aunt of the bride.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Crossing at Mervin Kahn.
After a wedding trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic the couple plans to reside in Ville Platte.
