The Sacred Heart Lady Trojans placed fourth overall in the District 6-2A Track and Field Meet last week. Two relay teams and eight individuals qualified for the regional event. The boys had four members qualify for the regional event and one relay team. The Regional event was held yesterday at ULL.
The SHHS girls collected 75 points at the event in Port Barre. Leading the way was the 4-by-400-meter relay team. The squad consisted of Allison Fusilier, Samantha Davenport, Lindsey Schexnayder and Lauren Parrott. In the High Jump event, Fusilier qualified for the regional. Katlin O’Shee throws the discus for the Lady Trojans. She will get a chance to do so in the regional. Abigail Enicke qualified for regional in the Triple Jump. Javelin thrower Lyndi Vidrine will also compete in the regional. The 4-by-200-meter relay team of Schexnayder, Davenport, Enicke and Parrott qualified for the regional with their performance at the event.
Four individuals qualified in the track events. Hannah Enicke made it in the 100-meter hurdles and Parrott made it in the 400-meter dash. Samantha Davenport qualified in two events. She will participate in the 100-meter dash and the 300-meter hurdles.
The boys had several qualifiers from the district meet. Cade McDaniel qualified in the 110-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles. David Daire made the trip to ULL to compete in the 800-meter run and Michael Vidrine competed in the 300-meter hurdles. The 4-by-400-meter relay team of McDaniel, Daire, Vidrine and Kyle Fontenot also competed in the regional event.
