Victoria Elizabeth Touchet and Kelly James Richard Jr. were united in marriage on Dec. 10, 2010, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Abbeville. Father Chester Arceneaux officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Wayne and Liz Touchet of Abbeville. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kern Comeaux of New Iberia and Mrs. Adley Touchet and the late Joseph “Villy” Touchet Sr. of Abbeville.

The groom is the son of Kelly Sr. and Barbara Richard of Abbeville. He is the grandson of Mrs. Jenny Faulk and the late Roland Faulk of Abbeville and Mrs. Eve Richard and the late Curley Richard of Abbeville.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a Maggie Sottero gown of ivory lace over oyster satin. Rhinestones, seed beads and pearls in a floral motif elegantly decorated the sweetheart neckline. A row of beaded, fabric flowers created a one-shoulder effect.

The bodice featured asymmetrical, shirred lace gathered at the natural waist, as well as centrally at the low back. The scalloped edge of the lace bordered the hemline of the a-line skirt and chapel-length train.

The bride carried a beautiful bouquet of ivory and blush pink roses, peonies and miniature calla lilies, accented with green hydrangea and hypericum berries. Wrapped in the bouquet was the bride’s maternal great-grandmother’s rosary.

Serving as maid of honor was Laura Richard, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids included Natalie Theriot, friend of the bride; Erin Quackenbos, sister of the groom; and Jennifer Segura, sister-in-law of the bride.

The bride’s attendants each wore an elegant black Charmeuse gown with a draped, wrap-style bodice with a deep v-front and back with a fluted skirt.

The flower girls included Emory and Carlisle Quackenbos and Jillian Segura; ring bearers included Fisher Quackenbos and Collin Segura–all nieces and nephews of the bride and groom.

Serving as best man was Kelly Richard Sr., father of the groom. Groomsmen included Jonathan Guilbeau, Cory Laperouse and Andy Richard; all friends of the groom.

Ushers included Barrett Broussard and Sam Young, both cousins of the groom; Jim Quackenbos, brother-in-law of the groom; and Ben Segura, brother of the bride.

Readers for the ceremony were Randy Comeaux, uncle of the bride; Jenny Faulk, grandmother of the groom; and Wendy Parich, aunt of the bride.

Gift bearers were Mousey Comeaux, uncle of the bride; and Nancy Young, godmother of the groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Magdalen Place.

After returning from a honeymoon to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Maurice.
