Despite the rain, many people came out to enjoy the great food cooked by the 19 teams. The winner was Team “Big Nasty” whose chief chef was Ben Langlinais.
Music was provide by Nichole Marceaux and her band, and the children enjoyed face painting.

For a $1 donation, you have a chance to win one of our prizes. 1st prize - $7,500, 2nd prize - $2,000, and 3rd prize - $500. Prize money was donated by the following local business supporters: Bank of Abbeville, Bank of Erath, Bay City Ford, Capital One, Courtesy of Vermilion, Frenzel Motors, Gulf Coast Bank and Ray Chevrolet. Tickets can be purchased from parents of Vermilion Catholic and Mt. Carmel students and/or the two school offices.
On Monday, Jan. 31, the celebration of Catholic Schools Week continued as students, faculty, parents, grandparents, alumni and friends gathered in the Vermilion Catholic gym for our annual Catholic Schools Week Mass.
Special guest for the Mass were Sister Beth Fitzpatrick, President of the Congregation of the Sisters of Mt. Carmel, Dr. Nancy Ehret, Assistant Superintendent of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Lafayette and Mayor Mark Piazza.
