The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Keith Gaspard of Forked Island. She is the granddaughter of Clifford Stelly and the late Della R. Stelly and Yvonne Gaspard and the late Flemon Gaspard. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest J. Romero of Maurice. He is the grandson of Adam and Joyce Romero and the late Dorthy Romero and the late Dallas and Marie Bodin.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white satin a-line gown with a sweetheart neckline. The off-the-shoulder bodice was adorned with hand-sewn beadwork and consisted of a sweeping train. The two-tiered veil fell at finger length and was edged with beaded scallops, beaded flowers, and sequins. The bride carried a bouquet of while silk calla lilies and fresh greenery.
Attending to the bride were Matron of Honor and sister Nikola Derouen, Maid of honor and friend Leah Touchet, and sister of the groom Elizabeth Duhon. Madisyn Duhon, godchild of the groom, served as junior bridesmaid.
The bridesmaids all wore long, elegant, black satin and chiffon gowns with a ruched waistline. The chiffon bodices, accented with floral details on the shoulder, flowed into a full satin skirt. The bridesmaids carried bouquets consisting of three white silk calla lilies with fresh greenery.
Crinnon Gaspard, niece of the bride, served as the flower girl and Kade Mire, godchild of the bride, and Tate Duhon, nephew of the groom, served as ring bearers.
In attendance of the groom were best man and cousin, Travis Bodin, brother of the bride Travis Gaspard, and brother Ryan Romero. Cousin of the groom, Justin Manceaux, served as Junior Groomsmen.
Cousin of the bride Trey Stelly and cousin of the groom Tyler Bodin served as ushers at the ceremony.
The bride’s mother wore a black, a-line knee-length dress with cap sleeves and a surplice neckline with an inset and attached embellished circle at banded ruched waist. She wore a corsage made of mini white roses, with fresh greenery, babies breath, and sprays of pearl and rhinestone.
The groom’s mother wore a two-piece sheer, multi-colored top, consisting mainly of black, brown and cream, with a sheer chiffon black palazzo skirt. She wore a corsage made of mini white roses with fresh greenery, babies breath and sprays of pearl and rhinestone.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Tammy Maturin and readings were given by Brenda Marceaux, the groom’s aunt, and Dominica Meaux, cousin of the bride.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Woodmen of the World, located in Abbeville. After returning from a honeymoon in Toledo Bend, the newly wed couple will reside in Maurice.
