On June 9-12, North Vermilion’s Dance Team attended a Universal Dance Association camp at UL Lafayette. The NV Dreams received an overall superior trophy for meeting maximum points required on all performances.

NV’s Home Routine was choreographed by Noelle H. Laperouse and earned a superior ribbon.

At camp, the dancers participated in a special lifts class, which they will incorporate into many of their dances.

Kansas Istre, daughter of Bert and Jristie Istre, and Haylie Hebert, daughter of Jayson and Natalie Hebert, were selected as All-American dancers and were invited to perform in London on New Year’s Day.

Kansas Istre won runner-up for drill downs, which is a series of commands that each dancer must follow.

Haylie Hebert, Kansas Istre and Meredith Stelly were asked to try out for next year’s UDA staff.

NV Dreams sponsor is Shamayne Istre.
