Agents received information that two male subjects were riding around in a green SUV dealing illegal narcotics. Upon agents finding the vehicle it was noticed both Arsenio Arceneaux and Kelsey Braxton were in said vehicle, with Braxton as the driver. Both parties had outstanding warrants on them for drug related offenses.
When agents attempted to stop the vehicle, Braxton began attempting to elude the officers as he fled in the vehicle at very high rates of speed, disobeying several traffic laws. Agents followed carefully in an attempt to stop the vehicle but at times backed off due to the dangerous nature of the chase. Agents noticed both parties discard items out of the vehicle which later turned out to be drugs.
Agents once again attempted to stop Braxton and this is when he and Arceneaux jumped out of the moving vehicle causing it to strike a garage on a private lot. Both were taken into custody. Total bonds are not set as of this time. Upon searching the vehicle agents found crack cocaine.
Agents state that more drugs could have been in the car at the attempt to stop but due to the reckless driving it is highly possible they were able to discard some of the drugs.
Sheriff Mike Couvillon agrees with the action of the officers in this case stating, “The agents acted in a professional manner in this arrest. We will never place innocent people in harm’s way due to a drug dealer trying to flee arrest. We will catch you sooner or later.”
