Mr. Mark Shirley, with the LSU AgCenter, met with 4-H Club members at LeBlanc Elementary School during the October 4-H meeting.  He gave a presentation on the importance of coastal preservation and the rising sea level and sinking coastline.  After the meeting, LeBlanc Elementary School 4-H Officers dug a hole to place a survey benchmark at the school as a reference point of elevation for future years.  Mr. Randy Schexnaider, superintendent joined members in the task. (Submitted by Kaitlyn Landry, LeBlanc Elem. School 4-H Club reporter)
