Shanice Same, along with the Dancing Doll of Southern University at Baton Rouge, will be on stage with superstars Madonna and Nicki Minaj as they entertain the world during the Super Bowl half-time show.

After viewing a video of the Dancing Dolls on Youtube, Madonna was so impressed, she contacted Southern University officials and requested they perform with her on Super Bowl Sunday. Once an agreement was made, the dancers were flown to New York City for three days to rehearse the routine.

“I am very excited to have such an opportunity to be on stage with an artist as awesome as Madonna,” said Shanice.

The former North Vermilion High School dance team captain says all the hard work, long hours, and 13 years of dance classes have prepared her for this moment.

Shanice started her dance education at the Ballet Studio in Milton at the age of 5 and ended at River Dance in River Ranch.

Shanice is the daughter of Stephanie Boudreaux Sam and the granddaughter of the late Mae Belle Wilturner.
