After going 25-5, 4-2 in the regular season, VC’s Lady Eagles have claimed the highest ranking as the number four seed in Class 1A.
Though the official brackets have yet to be released (the LHSAA will release the brackets on Friday), VC’s girls are positioned to host 29th ranked Ouachita Christian on Monday.
VC’s Eagles (14-12 6-2) are the 16th seed and are set to host 17th seeded La. New Tech. – Plain Dealing (12-13, 6-0) on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
Abbeville High also has both its boys and girls in the playoffs this year.
The Lady Wildcats (23-7, 10-2) enter the postseason as the number nine seed and, as such, will play 24th seeded Jennings (18-11, 7-3) at home on Monday.
Though they finished in the 38th spot, the Wildcats (13-14, 9-3) earned an automatic playoff berth thanks a second-place finish in District 9-3A. They should enter the playoffs as the 32nd seed and travel to face first-seeded Bossier (27-3, 6-0) on either Monday or Tuesday.
Making the playoffs for the first time in 13 years, the Erath Lady Bobcats (19-12, 9-3) earned the 28th seed in the power rankings and will likely face a road game at fifth-seeded Avoyelles (24-3, 9-1).
Last but not least, the North Vermilion Lady Patriots (18-10, 10-2) have earned the 20th seed in the final Class 3A power rankings. The Lady Pats figure to face 13th ranked Amite (19-6, 8-2) of District 8-3A on the road Monday.
