Lyles and Cormier tie the knot

Kimberly Rivers Lyles and Blake James Cormier, both of Lafayette, Louisiana were united in the sacrament of Holy Matrimony, Friday, April 27 at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Abbeville, Louisiana. Father Bryce Sibley was the celebrant of the six-thirty in the evening ceremony. Music was provided by organist Tommy Guidry, vocalist Jennifer Melancon, violinist Yang Yang Li, timpanist Ray Theaux, trumpeters Jared Gray and Kip Faulk. Following the ceremony, the newly weds and their guests attended a reception held at the Lafayette Petroleum Club. Musical entertainment was provided by Louisiana Red.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Andrew Lyles of Shreveport, LA. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Betty McRoberts Hollingsworth and the late Mr. William Haywood Hollingsworth, of Lafayette, LA, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd James Lyles of Baton Rouge, LA. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Ricky Cormier of Abbeville. He is the grandson of Mr. Robert Broussard, Jr., the late Mrs. Mabel Courville Broussard and Mr. and Mrs. John Exie Cormier, all of Abbeville, LA.

Presented in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant Allure Couture gown of ivory satin and organza, which featured a soft sweetheart neckline with a fitted silhouette that flared slightly at the hemline. The entire organza overlay was richly embellished with silver embroidery and crystal beadwork. The gown was finished with a dramatic dropped backline and sheer semi-cathedral train. A lovely single tiered ivory veil embellished with scalloped lace trim completed the gown. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of pale green hydrangea accented with miniature ivory calla lilies and Anna roses . A family heirloom rosary was woven into the bouquet. Flowers were designed by James Morvant.

Elizabeth Caroline Lyles of Lafayette, LA, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kelly Renee Cormier, sister of the groom, Kyleen Ruth Kilcline, Jenny Broussard Chittenden, and Helen Mills Walters. Riley Claire Cangelosi, Samantha Mary Vicknair, and Avery Elizabeth Townsend, cousins of the bride, served as flower girls.

Michael Aaron Lemoine II, of New Orleans, LA served as best man. Groomsmen were Ashton James Simon, Jacob Michael Hebert, Brennan James Castille, and Kyle Michael Mineo. Serving as ushers were Scott Lanier Magee, Ryan Scott Cormier, Stuart Joseph Kite, and Jordan Michael Romero.

Readings from Scripture were read by Alene Lyles Vicknair and Gregory Paul Harrington. Serving as gift bearers were Lauren Claire Fourroux and Lindsey Rae Fourroux, cousins of the bride. Program Attendants were Mary Claire Beauvais Porter, Katherine Ann Lashley and Cassie Suzanne James, friends of the bride.

Kimberly is a graduate of Captain Shreve High School in Shreveport, LA and a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, with a B.S. degree in dietetics. She is a registered dietitian currently employed by Lafayette General Community Health and Wellness Center as a corporate health consultant.

Blake is a graduate of Vermilion Catholic High School in Abbeville, LA and a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, with a B.S. degree in finance. He is currently employed as a Business Banker with Capital One Bank.

Following a honeymoon trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, the couple will reside in Lafayette, LA.
