“Swamp Spirits” is back on display with all new artwork at the Abbeville Cultural and Historical Alliance Museum. The exhibit will remain at the museum until the end of June.

The “Swamp Spirits” display started at the Gueydan Museum, and since then has traveled across Vermilion Parish between museums working together to share it as well as other exhibits. This is done so that people from around the parish have the opportunity to see the work displayed.

The “Swamp Spirits” program starts with a photographers image of a swamp scene and then ten artists recreate the image in each their own aesthetic.

Those representing the “Swamp Spirits” 2012 are Charlotte G. Broussard, Jeannie Comeaux, Adrian Fulton, Shirley Gauthier, Joy Holley, Ann Ella Joubert, Laura LaBorde, Tony Mayard, Norma Thompson, and Theresa dePerrodil Trahan.

Also exhibiting at the museum is Mary Joyce Trahan showing her paintings on leaves, and Teddy Baudoin is showing his art work.
