First Assistant Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin welcomed guests to the ceremony to honor the eleven Louisiana service cross recipients who were being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Each branch of the military awarded their service cross members for demonstrating extreme valor in the face of an armed enemy.
These awards are second only to the Congressional Medal of Honor.
The recipients came from all over the state to Abbeville for this event.
