Military Hall of Fame Inductees

Louisiana Secretary of State Tom Schedler and the Friends of the Louisiana Military Hall of Fame and Museum hosted the sixth induction ceremony in Abbeville on Saturday, May 26.

First Assistant Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin welcomed guests to the ceremony to honor the eleven Louisiana service cross recipients who were being inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Each branch of the military awarded their service cross members for demonstrating extreme valor in the face of an armed enemy.

These awards are second only to the Congressional Medal of Honor.

The recipients came from all over the state to Abbeville for this event.

Master Sgt. Charles L. Creger, U.S. Army, Distinguished Service Cross, of Caddo

Cpl. Brian James Gauthier, U.S. Marine Corps, Navy Cross, of Mansura

Lance Cpl. George E. Gray, U.S. Marine Corps, Navy Cross, of Shreveport

Lt. Elbert Stewart Heim, U.S. Navy-Reserve, Navy Cross, of Bossier

James R. Hudspeth, U.S. Army, Distinguished Service Cross

1st Sgt. David Mitchell Kaufman, U.S. Marine Corps, Navy Cross, of Plaquemine
