Vermilion/Municipal Task Force stops three alleged dealers

The Vermilion / Municipal Narcotics task force recently made the following drug related arrests.

- Quintaygi Richard, (dob 4-26-90) of Abbeville, arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana. Total bond set was $10,000.

- Deshwan Green, (dob 8-10-79) of Abbeville, arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana. Green was arrested after agents conducted a search warrant and found suspected marijuana packaged for street sale. Green also has a probationary hold placed on him due to past drug convictions. Total bond set was $10,000.

- Kymberly Marceaux, (dob 11-22-92) of Kaplan was arrested after agents conducted another search warrant at a residence within the city of Kaplan. Marceaux was found to be in possession of a large amount of marijuana, scales and other items utilized to package and distribute marijuana. She was also found to be in passion of prescription drugs without a prescription. Agents seized monies suspected to be proceeds derived from illicit drug sales. Marceaux was charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, possession of xanex, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of narcotics within 1,000 feet of a school zone. Total bond set was $20,000.

Sheriff Mike Couvillon would like to thank the following persons for their effort in assisting with Task Force personnel. Abbeville Mayor Mark Piazza, Kaplan Mayor Kirk Champagne, Abbeville Chief of Police Tony Hardy and Kaplan Chief Boyd Adams “I realize times are financially tough all over, but the Mayors and Chiefs of these cities are committed to finding the funds to help the Task Force combat the illicit drugs problem that ruins our communities. The people of Vermilion and our children are the beneficiaries of these city leaders’ great efforts. It is my hope that in the near future other towns and cities in the parish of Vermilion will be able to assist in the continuing fight against illicit drugs.”

Finally, Sheriff Couvillon would like to applaud the concerned citizens of Vermilion Parish for their awareness and assistance in helping the Sheriff’s Office in fighting the war on illegal drugs.
