Each week the Abbeville Meridional will highlight a softball or baseball player from the Vermilion Parish. This week it is Felix Joseph, a 10-year-old player for the Abbeville All-Stars.

He is the son of Tanya and John Joseph and the grandson of Vickie and Charlie Beiza and lives in Abbeville.

1) How long have you played baseball?

Four years.

2) What do you like about it?

I like to pitch and bat.

3) Who is your favorite pro baseball player and why?

Derek Jeter because I think he is good and I like the Yankees.

4) Your all-star team recently won the district championship. Did

that surprise you and do you think you'll do well in the state

tournament?

I was shocked we won but our coach

made us practice hard to become winners. I think we can do better in the State Tournament.

5) What other sports do you play?

Football, Soccer, Basketball.

6) Your family recently opened a new snow cone stand (Snow-N-More)south of Abbeville and I understand you help out sometimes. Do you like it and is it fun?

I like it because I always wanted to earn my own money.

7) Other than sports, what do you like to do for fun?

I like to play board games and eat.

8) What is the best thing about summer?

It's fun and there is no school.

9) What is the worst thing about summer?

It’s very, very hot.

10) What do you want when you grow up and why?

A Major League Baseball player because baseball is my favorite sport.
