UL's Orgeron and Team USA to Face Australia in World Cup Title Game

LAFAYETTE, La. – Christi Orgeron and the USA Softball Women’s National Team run ruled Brazil in five innings on Sunday, 9-0, to finish pool play 5-0 and lock up their No. 1 seed in the finals Monday night the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) of America and USA Softball announced today.



Team USA will face the Australian National team, whom they defeated 3-1 on Friday, for the 2012 World Cup of Softball championship tonight at 8:00 p.m. on ESPN2.



The Red, White and Blue is seeking their sixth World Cup title after topping Japan in the 2011 championship game.



In four games, Orgeron is hitting .333, with a team-high two doubles and is tied for second on the squad with five RBI.
