Funeral services will be held at a 9:00 am Mass of Christian Burial Friday, July 6, 2012 for Hilda Mae Trahan Richard, 84 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Leroy.

Reverend Gregory Simien will be the Celebrant of the Mass.

Hilda died after a brief illness at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Interment will be at the Our lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery.

Survivors include her son, Brian Richard and wife Annette of Maurice; two grandsons, Kenneth Richard and wife, Christina of Maurice and Keith Richard and wife, Danielle of Gonzales; one granddaughter, Megan Richard of Maurice; one great granddaughter, Ashley Richard of Maurice; a daughter in law, Christine Richard Jaubert of Maurice; three brothers, Curtis of Maurice, and George and Merlin Trahan of Judice; two sisters, Mary Louise Trahan of Judice and Betty Grace Alleman of Duson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Onezime and Edmay Trahan; her husband, Walter Richard; her son Kenneth Richard Sr.; her brothers, John, Murphy, and Ronald, and her sister, Genny Albarado.

Visitation will be held at Delhomme Funeral home of Maurice on Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm and will continue on Friday from 8:00 am until time of services. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm.

Pallbearers will be Brian, Keith, and Kenneth Richard. Also, George, Norris and David Trahan. Gift bearers will be Ashley Richard and Lisa Landry. Readings will be read by Priscilla Delhomme.

The family would like to extend a very heart- felt thank you to the staff of Pelican Point Rehabilitation Center in Maurice for the care and kindness that they showed to Hilda on her brief stay. These dedicated persons were a true blessing. They would also like to thank Dr. Kerry Schexnaider of Maurice for the deep compassion and care that was given to Hilda.
