Interested in learning how to safely handle a firearm and build confidence in your ability to defend yourself with a handgun? Sign up now for a “women’s only” handgun safety/defense class with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Louis Ackal is offering a handgun safety/defense class for women at the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office firing range. The class will be instructed by Deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office who are certified firearms instructors.

The class will be held on August 24th and 25th. Times will be from 6 – 9 p.m. on the 24th and 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. on the 25th. Participants in the class are asked to supply their ammunition and protective eye and hearing protection. All ages are welcome. Registering for the class can be done by calling the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office Training Center at 337-560-1008.
