Qualifying begins July 9, for fall election

Evangeline Parish Clerk of Court Walter Lee announced qualifying dates and fees for the fall elections.

Qualifying dates will be July 9, 10, and 11, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The fees are as follows:

District Judge $450

District Attorney $337.50

VP City Court Judge $112.50

VP City Marshal $112.50

Justices of the Peace $112.50

Constables $112.50

Pine Prairie

Mayor $60

Chief of Police $60

Aldermen $60

Mamou Special Election

Alderman $60

The fees must be paid with cash, money order or certified check. No personal checks will be accepted.

“Please go to the registrar’s office before the clerk of court’s office and pick up a certificate showing current registration information,” Lee said to candidates.

“If anyone has questions, call the clerk’s office at 363-5671.”
