Pinac qualifies for post

CROWLEY – The field for the race for the District 4 Public Service Commissioner post has been set with three candidates, including Crowley’s Gil Pinac, having officially qualified for the seat. The office became available when Dale Sittig vacated it to become the Executive Director of LOOP.

Running against Pinac, who served as District 42’s State Representative for twelve years, will be Clyde Holloway, R-Forest Hill, and State Senator Joe McPherson, D-Forest Hill.

District 4 is the second largest in the state and includes the parishes of Acadia, Jefferson Davis, Calcasieu, Cameron, Vermilion, St. Martin, St. Landry, Pointe Coupee, Evangeline, Allen, Beauregard, Vernon, Rapides, Avoyelles, LaSalle, Grant, and a portion of Catahoula.

Qualifying closed at 5 p.m. Friday for the April 4 ballot.
