The Abbeville Wildcats will not have a chance to win any titles in District 5-4A next season.

The reason is Abbeville will no longer be in Class 4A. The school will drop down and once again compete in Class 3A starting next school year.

Abbeville athletic director Larry Breaux confirmed the move after Thursday’s LHSAA redistricting meeting in Baton Rouge.

Ceclia will leave District 6-3A to move up to 4A. Eunice will joing Abbeville in dropping to from 4A to 3A. Westminster will also drop, going from Class 2A to 1A.
