A mid-game breakout helped propel LSU at Eunice to a 15-run shutout over St. Charles Community College Sunday afternoon.

The Bengals scored first in the bottom of the second inning with Jordan Bourque’s 2-RBI base hit.

Five more runs followed in the bottom of the third, including one run scored on designated hitter Zach Kirksey’s double.

But it was the bottom of the fourth that sealed the Cougars’ fate, as the Bengals went around the bases to score eight runs.

Les Aulds tripled to score the first run of the inning, and then scored on Gabriel Thibodeaux’s base hit.

Ryan Broussard singled to drive in two runs, and later scored on a fielder’s choice.

Pinch hitter Eldred Barnett capped off the inning with a home run to score three runs.

Joey Bourgeios (5-0) pitched an almost perfect game, giving up only one hit in seven innings while striking out six batters.
