The single gun shot killed Broussard.

Family members of Broussard are still grieving over the shooting. Funeral arrangements will be Saturday at Faith Hope Baptist Church in Abbeville.

Why a 17 year old was allowed into a club with a gun. There is a sign on the building that states no minors or weapons allowed in building.

Gwendalyn Broussard is Maurice’s aunt.

“How did a 17-year-old get a gun into this club?,” Broussard said. “And how did he get hi self into this club? You have big signs posted saying they will search for a weapon. I am looking for answers to those two questions.”

She arrived at the club right after the shooting and saw Maurice on the floor. She turned to the manager of the club and wanted to know why a 17-year-old was a allowed to step foot into a bar that was serving alcohol. Plus, he had a gun, she added.
