The Gueydan Museum will host their third midsummer production of “Steel Magnolias” on June 27.

This hilarious play is set entirely in Truvy’s beauty salon in the town of Natchitoches. Truvy and five women who frequent the salon make up the cast. The play, written by Robert Harling, is based on the 1989 movie of the same name.

The Acadia Players produce the play and will wrap up their four performances at the Gueydan Civic Center. Their previous productions of “Greater Tuna” in 2007, and “Seven Nuns in Las Vegas” in 2008 were huge hits and played to sell-out crows.

This year’s play will be a dinner theatre in a casual setting and will include an authentic Natchitoches meal. Tickets will be limited due to the dinner seating and are available at the Gueydan Museum during regular museum hours of Wednesday - Friday afternoons and all day Saturday. The ticket price of $25 will contribute toward the museum’s yearly programming and includes the play and the meal. Call 536.0443 to reserve your tickets.
