September 4-H News at FIEB Elementary

A first monthly meeting was held inviting all interested students to join. The meeting was called to order by President Madison Primeaux.  The pledge of allegiance was led by Parliamentarian Wyatt Roy while the 4-H pledge was led by Recreational Chairwoman Dacotah Marceaux. Secretary Ali Prejean took roll. Treasurer Jace Stelly gave the club’s beginning balance.  Reporter Ashton Greene explained his participation binder asking members to record results in order that he report on it. CRD Seth Suire will keep the club posted on upcoming activities. Old business included recognition of participants from this summer’s 4-H camp, horse shows and gardening contest. Members are eager to take part in upcoming new business events such as festivals, National 4-H Week (Oct. 4th-10th), Rice Poster Contest (Sept. 23rd), and Officer Training (Oct. 23rd).  Guest were local agents, Shannon and Hilton Waits, as well as parent volunteer Gwen Broussard, and Intern Courtney. Members were given an overview of the Parish Club and the “Vermilion Cracklin Newsletter” by the agents. This year’s focus will also incorporate FIEB as they begin an additional Special Needs Club for students. Submitted by 4th-6th  Reporter Ashton Greene.
