Brook Ashley Begnaud and Timothy Charles Derouen celebrated their union with a Nuptial Mass Friday, April 23, 2010.

Father Steven Leblanc celebrated the Mass at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Abbeville.

Brook is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Keith Begnaud of Abbeville. She is the granddaughter of Doris Wellbrock and Elbie and Voorhies Begnaud of New Iberia.

Timothy is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Harry Derouen of New Iberia. He is the grandson of Essie Tong of Jena, LA.

Escorted by her father, Robert Keith Begnaud, Brook wore a white Maggie Sottero designer vintage taffeta strapless full A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline and a corset back enclosure. The bodice was richly embellished by embroidery and accented with Swaroski crystals and glass beads. The embellished chapel length train finished the style.

Her dress was complimented with a white two-tiered veil trimmed with white satin trailing from a rhinestone barrette. The brides bouquet was made of deep burgundy hydrangea, burgundy berries, burgundy roses, green hydrangeas, white roses and lush mixed greens accented with small butterflies. Tucked into the bridal bouquet are her grandmother’s crystal and sterling silver rosary and an antique German Bible that is a family heirloom.

Brook selected the gowns worn by her bridesmaids with varying necklines to compliment each attendant and give them each a unique style. The formal dresses are designed out of iridescent olive taffeta.

Serving in the wedding as the Maid of Honor was Amber Romero, best friend of the bride. The Honorary Maid of Honor was Crystal Begnaud, sister of the bride. Serving as Bridesmaids in the wedding were: Amy Carlson, cousin of the bride; Alecia Bowden, friend of the bride; Ashley Starks, friend of the bride; Britany Weaver, cousin of the bride; and Tricia Derouen, cousin of the groom, served as the Junior Bridesmaid.

Flower Girls in the wedding were Abigail Bowden and Cassidy Starks; the Ring Bearer was Nicholas Begnaud.

The Best Man for the wedding was Jeffery Derouen, brother of the groom. Serving as Groomsmen in the wedding were Benjamin Starks, best friend of the groom; Timothy Bowden, friend of the groom; Timothy Carlson, cousin of the bride; Jessie Derouen, nephew of the groom; and Joshua Derouen, nephew of the groom, served as the Junior Groomsman.

Ushers for the ceremony included Roger Wellbrock, parrain of the bride; and Clayton Begnaud, cousin of the bride. The bride’s mother wore a floor length beaded formal gown and a wrist corsage. The groom’s mother also wore a floor length formal gown with a wrist corsage.

Music for the wedding was provided by Tommy Guidry, organist.

Readings were given by Patricia Begnaud, godmother of the bride; and Coty Begnaud, cousin of the bride.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Magdalen Place Reception Hall.
