Wedding bells rang for Jessica Romero and Joshua Touchet as they exchanged vows of matrimony April 17, 2010, during a 7:00 p.m. ceremony at St. John’s Catholic Church in Henry. The Reverend Emmanuel “Manny” Fernandez officiated the ceremony.

Jessica is the daughter of Warren “Buck” and Carolyn Romero of Abbeville.

Joshua is the son of Pullen and Natalie Touchet of Abbeville.

The bride wore a stunning Maggie Sottero creation of diamond white taffeta; embellished with Swarovski crystals, glass beads and vintage lace. The strapless corseted bodice was elegantly adorned at the side of her waist with a lace appliqué’ adding detail to the asymmetrically shirred taffeta. Dazzling vintage lace with a scalloped edge romantically trimmed the hemline of the slim A-line skirt and chapel-length train. Completing her timeless ensemble, the bride wore a single layer cathedral-length veil in white diamond illusion.

The bride’s bouquet was created with pink peonies that were accented with cut ice crystals. Entwined was a wedding decade in memory of Blake Stelly, cousin of the bride and a friend of the groom, and Trissy Hargrave, another friend of both the bride and groom.

Included in the wedding party as the Maid of Honor was Christy Richard, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids included Skyla Labit, friend of the bride; Amanda Lege, cousin of the bride; and Crystal Bouillion, sister-in-law of the bride.

The Bridesmaids wore floor length iridescent taffeta gowns. The apple green dresses featured a V-neckline and wrap bodice with an empire wide set band. They carried bouquets created using white peonies with applegreen gerber daisies and tiny pink sweetheart roses.

Also included in the wedding party as the Flower Girl was Chesley Richard, godchild to the bride and groom; and the Ring Bearers were Dayten Matthew and William Bouillion, godchildren of the groom.

Standing as the Best Man was James Comeaux, friend of the groom. Groomsmen for the event were Waylon Quibodeaux, friend of the groom; Matt Richard, brother-in-law of the bride; and Aaron Bouillion, brother-in-law of the groom. Ushers included Nicholas Vincent, cousin of the bride; and Blaine Matthew, friend of the groom.

Music for the ceremony was provided by vocalist Robert Muffoletto Sr., and organist Janet Sinitere.

Readings were given by Monique Kern, godmother of the groom and Paulette Vincent, friend of the bride.
