Bertrand and Patin wed in Abbeville

Aimee Nicole Bertrand and Joshua Scott Patin were united in holy matrimony on Friday, June 11, 2010, at Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Abbeville, La.

The Rev. Edward Duhon officiated at the 6:30 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Michael and Annette Bertrand of Abbeville. She is the granddaughter of the late Dudles and Singsie Dubois and Irene Bertrand and the late Sidney Bertrand.

She is a graduate of Vermilion Catholic and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is currently employed by the Vermilion Parish School Board.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Laure Richert of Leroy and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Patin, Jr. of Lumberton, Tx. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Hebert Landry and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bonin.

He is a graduate of North Vermilion and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He is currently employed by the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections Division of Probation and Parole.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a chiffon slim gown with a beaded empire waist and beaded halter. It also featured a detachable Watteau train. She carried a bouquet of elegant long-stem tropical orange calla lilies and french orange roses completed with art designs of bear grass. The bouquet was hand tied and completed with a special rosary belonging to the bride’s deceased grandmother Gammie.

Serving as the matron of honor was Allyson Marceaux, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Alissa Richert and Chrisanda Touchet, sisters of the groom, Nicole Bertrand, Alisa Bertrand and Lori Bertrand, sisters-in-law of the bride, Sarah Dubois, cousin of the bride, and Brooke LeBlanc and Rani Lege, friends of the bride.

Serving as junior bridesmaids were Anne-Marie Marceaux and Alyssa Bertrand, nieces of the bride.

The bridesmaids wore long clover-green dresses made of chiffon and charmeuse. It featured a high neckline with a flowing skirt. They carried an elegant long-stem tropical orange calla lily bouquet, which was hand tied and completed with art designs of bear grass.

The best man was Michael Ripoll, Jr., cousin of the groom. Groomsmen were Shawn Symons and Brandon Johnson, cousins of the groom, Michael Ripoll, Sr., uncle of the groom, Michael Bertrand, Brian Bertrand and Christopher Bertrand, brothers of the bride, Eric Marceaux, brother-in-law of the bride, and Scott LeBlanc, friend of the groom.

Serving as junior groomsmen were Andrew Marceaux, godchild of the bride, Aaron Bertrand, nephew of the bride, and Cody Landry, godchild of the groom. Ring bearers were Aidan Bertrand, godchild of the bride, Michael Bertrand III and Alexander Marceaux, nephews of the bride.

Ushers included Blake Touchet, brother-in-law of the groom, Shea Bertrand and Richard Dubois, cousins of the bride.

Readers at the ceremony were Janel Minvielle, aunt of the bride, and Britanee Symons, cousin of the groom.

Offertory gifts were presented by Billy Dubois, godfather of the bride, and Freddy Dubois, uncle of the bride.

Music for the ceremony was provided by vocalists Gregory and Christine Dubois, uncle and aunt of the bride, trumpeter Will Green, and organist Tommy Guidry.

A reception was held at the Saint Theresa’s Holy Family Center.

After returning from a honeymoon to Nassau, Bahamas, the couple will reside in Abbeville.
