The Mamou Police Department arrested another individual for failing to register as a sex offender March 5. Detective Todd Ortis said this is the third such arrest in the last few weeks.
Brennan John Andrus, 25, 910 First St., Mamou, was reported as having committed a hit and run to police, who quickly issued an arrest warrant for him. Ortis said it was also learned Andrus was a convicted sex offender and no registration was found. “We’ve had a run on sex offenders lately,” Ortis said.
When Andrus was located, he was charged with hit and run and failure to register as a sex offender. Andrus was transported to the Evangeline Parish Jail, where his bond was set at $15,000 by 13th Judicial District Judge Tom Fuselier.
