The Evangeline Council on Aging awarded plaques to some of its departing board members during its meeting Tuesday, September 9.<!--break-->

Departing board members were outgoing president Lionel Chapman, Lola Johnson, Gervis LaFleur, Beverly Miller and Mary Reavill.

Each member in attendance was presented with a plaque of appreciation for their hard work and dedication as members of the board.

New officers appointed during the meeting were: Jerry Foret, president; Ervin McCauley, vice president; Eugene LeBoeuf, executive director; and Emma Joy Phillips, secretary.

Elderly citizens needing assistance are urged to contact the Evangeline Council on Aging office at 363-5161.
