ST. MARTINVILLE – St. Martin New Start Center – which aids battered women and their children in securing shelter, counseling and alternatives to violence – hopes to supply Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets this holiday season.

Your donation of $10 buys a turkey. A $20 donation will supply a complete food basket for a mother and two children. If you prefer to do the shopping yourself, there is a need for turkeys, chickens, potatoes, rice, canned goods and other nonperishable items.

Thanksgiving Baskets will be delivered on Nov. 21. Christmas baskets and gifts for the children and mothers will be delivered on Dec. 19.

If you would like to adopt a family for Christmas, first names, ages and gender will be supplied.

Unwrapped or gift bags, please
