Abbeville man dies in car accident

A 24-year-old Abbeville man died Monday evening when he was involved in a three-vehicle accident east of Delcambre on La. 14.

Travis Trahan, 24, is the person who was killed in the crash, according to the Louisiana State Police.

According to State Police, Trahan was traveling west on La. 14 and sideswiped a Honda Accord, also westbound driven by April Guidry, 25, of Abbeville, who sustained moderate injuries.

An Iberia Parish School bus was involved in the accident, but no students were injured.

The driver of the school bus and Guidry were transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

Trahan is the son of Kirk Wally Trahan and mother Dean Menard.

According to the state police report, Trahan was wearing a seat belt but due to heavy damage to Trahan’s vehicle, he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Iberia Parish Coroner’s Office.

This was the 66th fatal crash and the 72nd fatalityTroop I has investigated in 2008.

Trahan will be buried Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. in Graceland Cemetery in Abbeville.
